Intro to Java
AP Computer Science [A]
Create the Future.
The need for computer programmers and software engineers grows every year and we see a glaring hole in extra-curricular prep classes for the AP Computer Science tests.
We aspire to address this need and help students gain skills related to the Computer Science field that will greatly benefit them throughout the future.

Limitless
The field of Computer Science allows those who study it to build practically anything they can imagine.
Growth
From 2007 to 2017 the number of students that took an AP Computer Science Test grew 500%!
Potential
Scores from the 2018 Computer Science A test rank in the middle of every other Math AP Test.
Demand
There is around 500,000 jobs available for Computer Science majors but only about 50,000 new graduates each year.

Goal for the Future
Our goal for this course is to introduce new students to the world of computer science.
The number of students who enroll in the pursuit of a computer science degree increase dramatically after they are exposed to the field.
We strive to help level out the supply and demand for software developers and engineers in the field of technology and the future.
Curriculum
This course will be featuring a curriculum that follows the AP Computer Science A course.
It will serve as a precursor to the AP course and as a way to introduce Java and core Computer Science concepts.
Everything from basic syntax & functions to classes & objects to basic algorithms and logic will all be presented in this course.
Other topics will include:
-
Program & class design
-
Testing & debugging
-
Arrays (1 & 2 dimensional)
-
Data Structures & Traversal
-
Sorting Algorithms
